Book Signing!

Saturday, November 25th from 1 – 3 p.m.
This coming Saturday, Adelaide’s will be hosting another book signing/meet and greet with local author James Tweedie. Tweedie, who has lived all around the world, is a pastor, a poet, a composer, a photographer, and a teller of stories.

James says “good stories entertain us, inspire us, and teach us something about ourselves and the world we call home.” He is happy to call the Long Beach Peninsula his home today.
Stop by to unwind after the holiday weekend, and pick up a good story to relax with.

CLOSED October 15

Hey friends,

Adelaide’s will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, October 15. We are all going to Coffee Fest in Portland!! Hopefully we’ll be able to learn some new tips and tricks to bring home and share with you.

Have such a wonderful day, and we’ll see you next week.

Saturday Meet & Greet

On Saturday, September 16, from 10 AM – 1 PM, we will be hosting an event to meet local artists and authors. We will have some familiar faces, such as Kent Walsh, our resident author, and the lovely Bette Lu, who is responsible for all the apparel sold at Adelaide’s. We will also be featuring a couple new faces who have never before participated in our art events.  Come help us welcome them!

(Most) of the crowd has dissipated for the summer 😉 It’s safe to stop by Adelaide’s and chat with friends, new and old.

Art Sale this Weekend!

You are invited!
Saturday, September 9
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This weekend Adelaide’s will be hosting an end-of-summer art sale event with photos by Vicki. We will have photo cards, prints, and framed art available for purchase. And the best part is, everything will be SALE PRICED!

(As if we didn’t have enough going on next weekend with the annual Rod Run to the End of the World!)

The pictures above give you a (very) rough idea of some of Vicki’s work. It’s a picture (saved as a .jpg) of a picture (taken with a cell phone) of a picture (printed using a standard office document printer) of a picture (taken by Vicki.) Does that make sense? The point is, if these photos look this good after four degrees of adulteration, just imagine how gorgeous the original prints will be!

The happiest kids in Ocean Park… maybe the world!

These elementary school children really have something to smile about. As a reward for their hard work and commitment to literacy and mathematics, and of course their AMAZING, positive attitudes while doing so, a member of our community decided to treat these kids to ice cream at Adelaide’s.

Living in a small community like Ocean Park is truly a gift.

Meet & Greet Local Artists

Saturday, July 29, from 1-4 pm on our porch!

As many of you know, in addition to being a great place for coffee and yarn, Adelaide’s/Tapestry Rose also features a selection of works from local authors and artists. Please join us on our porch Saturday, July 29, to meet some of our favorite local craftspeople, such as author Kent Walsh, artist Coral Bling, craftsman Robert Matthews, our favorite “fashion designer” Bette Lu, and several more.
